god whenever i see those jokes that are like.. “haha lads we put glasses on the floor at the MET and everyone thought it was art jokes on them” jokes on you bitch! you put something out there in a context of display + consumption of art and people took it seriously because that is what the social etiquette of galleries impedes the viewer to do and you drew a response and reaction out of them and then thousands of other people by laughing at them. you made art bitch. you simulated the experience then proved your own joke with you as the punchline bitch. not the viewers.

hey !

i don’t go on tumblr much these days but i just wanted to yell that i’m grateful for whoever has been my tumblr pal! Wether we’ve been old friends or just goofs that poke each other every once in a while over shared love for memes/songs- THANK YOU!

I’m really grateful to know you in any and every sense, and also thanks to anyone who’s reached out to me when I used to make emo text posts. I’ve been in a much better mental state lately thanks to therapy and stable support systems. woot woot! But I’ve learned a lot from my experience with Tumblr.

some lessons I’ve learned:

-Step back and realize when you’ve consumed too much content. I realized I would excuse my 218937 hours spent on this site because “I was looking 4 art inspiration”. Then I realized I was spending more time looking at art than making art, even though that’s what I came here for! Balance consumption with production.

- It’s pretty much not worth it to get into arguments on the internet. If someone doesn’t want to open up about their opinion, you can’t smash your opinions in their face or belittle them. My life has significantly improved since stepping away from engaging in internet arguments. Thoughtful IRL conversations are generally less stressful and have more productive outcomes.

-^^^going with that last point- a lot of context is stripped from text posts, blogs, etc. Sometimes when people have strong (maybe even belligerent) opinions, there might be a deeper history or pain behind it. It’s helpful to be mindful of how trauma and experience shape people because it reminds us to be more compassionate/loving/patient with people.

bla bla bla, a little bit of a rambling post, but I hope whoever is reading this has a great day!
